How to Put a Sinker on Fishing Line?

Putting a sinker on a fishing line is an important step for anglers who are looking to catch fish. A sinker is a weight that is attached to the end of the fishing line and it helps the bait to sink deeper into the water, giving it more time to be seen by fish.

Sinkers come in many different shapes and sizes, and it’s important to choose the right one for your particular situation.

When putting a sinker on the line, you’ll need to make sure that it’s secure. Start by opening up the hook eye at one end of the sinker, which will create an open loop.

Then thread your fishing line through this loop until it’s tight. Make sure that you leave enough room between the hook and the sinker so that you can tie a knot if needed.

Once you have your sinker secured on the line, you’ll need to tie a knot. There are several types of knots that can be used for this purpose.

The best option is usually an overhand knot, which is easy to tie and provides a strong hold for your sinker. To tie an overhand knot, make two loops with your fishing line and then pull them together tightly.

Putting a sinker on fishing line isn’t difficult but does require some preparation. Before attempting this task, make sure that you have all of your supplies ready including your sinker, fishing line, and knot tying tools if needed. Once everything is in place, open up the hook eye of your sinker, thread your fishing line through it until it’s tight but not too tight, and then tie an overhand knot for added security.
