How Does the Cod League Work?

The Call of Duty League (CDL) is a professional esports league for the popular first-person shooter video game franchise, Call of Duty. The league consists of 12 teams, each representing a city across North America and Europe. The CDL features some of the best players from around the world competing for millions of dollars in prize money.

Format

The CDL’s regular season is divided into two halves: the Spring Split and the Summer Split. During each split, teams play in a series of weekend tournaments called “Home Series.”

Each Home Series features eight teams and takes place over three days. Teams earn points based on their performance in these tournaments, with the top eight teams advancing to the postseason.

Postseason

The postseason consists of two events: the Major tournaments and the Championship Weekend. The Major tournaments feature the top eight teams from the regular season competing in a double-elimination bracket for a $500,000 prize pool.

The Championship Weekend is where it all comes down to one final tournament. The top four teams from each region compete in a double-elimination bracket for a $2.5 million prize pool and bragging rights as the best Call of Duty team in the world.
