How Do You Make a Mini Fishing Pole?

Making a mini fishing pole is a great way to introduce children to the basics of fishing. Even if you don’t have access to a traditional fishing rod and reel, you can easily make your own mini fishing pole. With a few simple items, you can create an inexpensive, fun and functional mini fishing pole that the kids can use in their backyard or at the local pond.

Materials Needed

  • Plastic straws
  • String
  • Small hooks
  • Glue gun
  • Wire cutters
  • Beads or lures (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the straw into two pieces. The length of each piece should be about one foot long.

  2. Use the glue gun to attach one end of one of the straw pieces to the other straw piece. Make sure both pieces are aligned correctly before gluing them together.

  3. Once the two pieces are glued together, use wire cutters to make two small holes in each end of the joined pieces. This will allow you to attach your string and hooks.

  4. Cut two pieces of string and tie them through each hole in the poles. The strings should be long enough so that they reach from one end of the pole to the other.

  5. Attach small hooks to each end of the string. You can also add beads or lures for added fun.

  6. Your mini fishing pole is now ready for use! Test it out by casting your line into a bucket filled with water.

Conclusion:

Making a mini fishing pole is an easy and inexpensive way to introduce kids to fishing. With just a few simple items, you can create an effective and fun mini fishing pole that will give hours of enjoyment for all ages.
